Engagement

Well here we are. After 3 years 3 months & 27 days we are FINALLY engaged! Trevor proposed to me on November 27,2008. This was Thanksgiving... And for those of you that don't know the story it's pretty humorous. I had been telling Trevor ALL week that we had my family dinner on Thanksgiving at 3pm. I continuously reminded him that he needed to be there by that time because he gets wrapped up in work and hunting A LOT!!! Well sure enough it was Thanksgiving and I had been at my parent's all day listening to the ususal "where's Trevor? Is he working again? Where is he" and 3 o'clock rolls around. He said that he wouldn't be there right at 3 but he had just a couple of things to finish up. Come 4 he still isn't there... I was furious by this time and embarrassed. So when he finally arrived at 4:20 I barely talked to him. I made it apparent that I was upset and didn't really talk to him a whole lot. He got his plate of food and I sat at the table next to him asking him why on earth he thought that skinning a raccoon was so much more important than a holiday that you spend with your family??!! He avoided the arguement and just ate. Then after a few minutes of tension filled silence he says "I've been getting signs" and I just kind of rolled my eyes and asked what he was getting signs about. That's when he pulled out the Taco Bell sauce packet that said Will You Marry Me? on it. I kind of chuckled and then he pulled out the box... He opened it and says he asked me to marry him but I was so caught up in the moment that I didn't even know he asked. I asked him if this was for real. I guess I thought I was dreaming. And in all of this, without saying YES!!!!!, I stood up, gave him a hug as I was crying like a baby and told him I was sorry for being mad at him. Classic huh??? HAHA. Then my whole family came in surprised at what was happening and there was lots of hugs & lots of tears of joy!

So all in all our Thanksgiving was fabulous even though Trevor was late. He admitted later that he has had the very ring that I had my heart set on since February and that the reason he decided that day was the right day was because he knew I was VERY mad. But it's ok because I quickly forgave him. I will be posting as we go along our treterous journey of planning, fun, and of course disagreements. If anyone has any fun ideas or good tips when it comes to SLOWLY planning a wedding let me know! Oh and we are not sure when the exact day is but we do know that it will be late summer or early fall of 2010!

  1. Even though I've called you my sister in law for a few years now, I'm glad it's finally coming true!!! It'll be here before you know it and MAYBE I'll have a niece/nephew in 2011 or 2012

I think you guys need one of these at your wedding

  3. Trevor will have to go for it if I do it for a gift. The wedding is still a long time away so I'll have to see what the cash flow is at the time!
